Dinet Cake (Coffee Cake) A Coffee Lover's Best Friend

There is nothing that I like better than to sit down with a hot cup of coffee or cocoa with piece of freshly baked coffee cake.

Sometimes, I can't help but ask myself: Is it love?

Here is a recipe for my favorite coffee cake.

Dinet Cake (Coffee Cake) Recipe:

1 egg
3/4 cup of milk
1/3 cup of shortening
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sugar
1 1/4 cup of flour

You will mix all of these ingredients in a large sized bowl. Then, you will pour it into a pre- greased and flour cake pan. Place it in the oven on the temperature of 350 degrees for about 30 - 35 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Let it cool for about ten minutes and then it is ready to serve.

Enjoy!!!!

Is It Love? LOL!!

We had homemade macaroni and cheese today for dinner.

Here is the recipe:

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese:

1. 1/2 a box of family sized macaroni noodles
2. 1 3/4 cup milk
3. 1 Pound of swiss cheese block
4. 1/4 cup of flour
5. 1/4 cup stick butter

First, you place the stick butter, the milk, and the block cheese in a medium sized pot. Then, once the cheese and butter is melted you add the flour. The consistancy of the cheese at this point should almost appear a gravy type substance. After you have the cheese complete, place it on a back burner and keep it on a low setting stirring it occasionally with a wisk. Now you will need to cook the macaroni noodles. So, place water in a medium sized pot, making it about half full. Place the water on medium heat, until it comes to a boil. Then you need to add the macaroni noodles. Stir the macaroni noodles consistantly for about twenty minutes. You can check the texture of the macaroni noodles by occasionally chewing on a noodle. After the noodles are done turn you cheese off and strain your noodles. Then, pour the cheese into a large sized bowl and add the macaroni noodles. Finally, let it sit stirring occasionally for about twenty minutes so that the cheese has the ability to sort of thicken, and then it will be finished and ready to serve.

Enjoy!!!!

I Love This Recipe!!

Here is a Jumble Cookie Recipe that I and my family use quite often mainly around the fall and in the winter. They are really good with a cup of hot coffee or a hot cup of cocoa.

Jumble Cookies Recipe:

1. 2 eggs
2. 1 cup of canned milk
3. 1 teaspoon of vanilla
4. ½ a cup of shortening
5. 1 teaspoon of salt
6. ½ teaspoon of baking soda
7. 1 cup of brown sugar
8. ½ cup of white sugar
9. 2 ¾ cup flour
10. 1 cup of nuts (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350-375. Then mix the ingredients together in a large sized bowl. I usually prefer to add the wet ingredients first, but it’s completely up to you. I skip the nuts ingredient, but I thought that I would add them for those that don’t mind them. Once you have successfully mixed the mixture it should have a rather thick appearing consistency. After you have the cookie batter mixed, grease your cookie sheets and then lightly flour them, bopping off any excess matter from the cookie sheet. Then, you need to place the cookie batter on the cookie sheet about an inch or two apart from each other. Put them in the oven for about 10-15 minutes or until they appear to be a nice golden brown. Wait one minute after you take them out of the oven and then remove them from the cookie sheet. They are now ready to be served.

Enjoy!!!!

Mexican Rice

Me encanta cocinar con mi mamá y mis dos hermanas. (I love to cook with my mom and my two sisters).

Got to love my mama's Spanish class. LOL

Here is one of our favorite recipes.

Mexican Rice Recipe:

1. 1 cup of rice
2. 1 1/2 cup of water
3. 1 can tomato of sauce
4. 1 chopped green pepper
5. 1/3 teaspoon of lemon pepper
6. 1 chopped onion
7. 3 tablespoons of olive oil
8. 3 minced cloves of garlic
9. 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
10. 1 chopped onion

First, boil a cup and a half of water in a medium sized pot. Once the water has come to a boil pour one cup of rice in the pot with three tablespoons of olive oil. Let the rice cook for about twenty minutes or until the rice has seeped all of its water. While the rice is cooking pour one can of tomato sauce in a large size bowl. Finely chop one green pepper to the consistency or your liking. Then add one-third teaspoons of lemon pepper, and one finely chopped onion. Then add three finely minced cloves of garlic and a half a teaspoon of dried basil. Mix this mixture thoroughly until it appears as if it is mixed well. Finally, once the rice is done cooking poor the rice into a large bowl with the mixture to which you have just previously made. Mix the rice in well with the mixture. Now you are ready to serve your family some Mexican Rice. Enjoy!

About Me

I live with my family of eight currently in a small town of Pennsylvania. By the way when I say that I live in a small town I mean so small that you no more and sneeze and you’re through it. I am homeschooled. Yes, I did in fact say the h-word. LOL. I enjoy being educated in the comfort of my own home along side my brothers and sisters and I wouldn't have it any other way. The best part is when we do school in our PJ's on our soft couch or on a picnic blanket in our back yard. I have a multitude of favorite activities, however, if I had to select the top few they would be writing, playing the piano, cooking, baking, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family. The main purpose of this blog is to justify all of the homeschooled students out there that are rejected because those who attend public school believe that we are unsocialized and unintelligent. It is also to emphasize the fact that we that are homeschooled have just as much intelligence, social skills, education, personality, and character as those that do attend a public and/or private school if not more. To provide public schoolers that treat the "homeschooled" as aliens rather than individuals, just a few pieces of a real homeschooled students life.
